Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your Jumanji Africa Safaris representative who will transfer you to your accommodation in nearby Entebbe Town.
If time of your arrival permits, there will be an important group meeting at 6pm at your accommodation. Please endeavor to attend the meeting.

Today after your early morning breakfast you will be briefed by your guide/driver on the day’s adventures. He will get you at a 4*4 vehicle and drive you North to Gulu city.
You will sleep at African Roots Gulu nestled in senior quarters a beautiful residential area of Gulu town and strategically placed between the best National Parks in Uganda, Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley as considered by some.
We shall make a 2 – 3 hr. stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola District where you will get to track the beautiful majestic White Rhinos on foot for a real up-close personal feel but at a safe distance with an experienced game ranger.
The journey is approximately 8hrs including 2 – 3 hrs. time spent tracking the White Rhinos

Set off to Kidepo Valley National Park after an early morning breakfast and arrive in time for lunch at Adele Safari Lodge.
Adele Safari Lodge offers 20 private ensuite large chalets with endless views over the Kidepo Valley National Park. The lodge is built with an authentic African touch brought to life by the grass thatched roof and beautiful raw woodwork by local area crafts men. A beautiful plunge pool is on site with outstanding views over the park and to cool off the heat from the hot sunny afternoons.
Wildlife in Kidepo is abundant. Lions, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, zebra (this is Uganda’s only park where giraffe and zebra are found together), possibly Africa’s largest herds of buffalo, hartebeest, waterbuck, bushbuck, warthog…the list is endless. Better still, much of it can be seen from the privacy of your veranda or your outdoor bathtub, but the best way to see the wildlife is up close: on foot, or in one of our open-top land cruisers or hiace vans.
We shall have an evening game drive when the hot sun has gone down giving us a chance to spot various animals as they grab a quick dinner before disappearing into the dead of night leaving nocturnals on the night patrol.

Set off for an early morning game drive, this is when the animals are the most active, the sun is not yet so bright, and temperatures are cooler. It offers the best time to spot wild animals. Come eye-to-eye with the African animal kingdom: elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and many tropical birds may all be spotted during the game drive in the Narus Valley.
Narus Valley
A network of clear track traverses the Narus Valley and gives visitors on game viewing safari access to secret spots with large congregation of wildlife species.
Katurum track is of special interest notably the Katurum kopje a higher elevation that gives travelers exceptional views to monitor wildlife movements in the greater Narus Valley.
The valley is the most ideal place to spot lions, elephants, zebras, kudus, oryx, caracal, Ugandan kob, oribi, warthogs, side-striped jackals, reedbucks, klipspringers, buffalo, dikdik and many more. In the heat of the burning afternoon sun various species trek to the narus dam and the water hole close to Apoka Visitor Center to quench their thirst.
Bird watching is a wonder in the Narus valley along the Narus river and swamp. The edges of the river are prime spotting areas for various species of birds which include the ostrich, carmine, hoopoe nunian woodpecker, secretary bird, kori bustard, Abyssinian ground hornbill, Karamoja apalis, little weaver, black-breasted barbet, silver shrike, vivacious bird, scarlet chested sunbird, yellow billed bornbill, white-bellied go away bird, singing bush lark among other sightings.
Discover hiking expeditions in Morungole mountain ranges inhabited by the IK people. These are some of the world’s most native and aboriginal populations still surviving. This expedition takes a whole day.
Kidepo Valley
The park derives it name from this valley and Kidepo means “to pick from under” in the local dialect. Famous for its scenic Borassus palm trees a delicacy of elephants and the indigenous people. In the valley, is river Kidepo flowing North to South Sudan supplemented by the Narus river before pouring into the White Nile. In the rainy season the Kidepo valley floods and only the strong hearted can dare to cross however it dries to bare sand dunes in the dry season and all the game migrates to the Narus valley which remains and oasis in the dry season.
We rarely venture into the Kidepo Valley due to its remoteness and lack of mobile service connectivity and help can take a while once stuck.

Today after breakfast and a brief game drive we shall head to a Karamojong Village outrside the National Park for an exclusive experience of a true authentic African village lifestyle and culture setting.
The Karamojong are an indigenous community inhabiting the Karamoja region. These are in many ways similar or are regarded as cousins to the Masai in the Masai Mara region in Kenya. The Karamojong just like their cousins the Masai in Kenya live a nomadic lifestyle till now roaming the vast plains of Karamoja with learge herds of livestock – sheep, goats, cattle etc. They settle in enclosed homesteads with various manyattas (houses) fenced off with dry sticks and bushes for herd protection against intruders in the night such as wild animals and rival settlers. The Karamojong take pride in the large size of livestock which is a symbol of wealth and social status.
You will have the rare opportunity to visit the manyattas and learn more about survival skills in the wilderness and take part in an exciting cultural dancing experience.
We shall return to the lodge for lunch and soon after kiss Kidepo National Park goodbye. Transfer to Gulu City where we shall spend our night at the African Roots.

In case the mentioned lodges are not available during the requested period, we will do our best to book a lodge in the same class for you (of course we will only do this after consulting you). It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits so we will buy them only after your booking and down payment. Permits also depend on availability.
