After a brief interaction and guidelines, he will get you onto one of our 4*4 vehicles and drive you to Queen Elizabeth National Park.  This is a 7hrs journey include 1hr lunch stopover in Fort Portal. We shall drive on a good, paved road crossing through the rolling endless of hills of central Uganda to neat, beautiful green hills of vast tea estates in Kibale and Fort Portal districts.

After lunch in Fort Portal City, we shall continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late afternoon.

Day 3Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early today possibly before your breakfast we shall head to morning game drive starting at about 7am in the Kasenyi Plains. This is the best time to see various animals such as warthogs, kobs, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards among others as they come out to seek a quick breakfast.

On our way to or from the afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga channel we can have a drive through the Queens Pavilion into the explosive crater field dotted with scenic beautiful dry and wet crater lakes.

The boat safari is a major highlight that offers amazing views of lots of wildlife as various animals and birds come down to the channel to have a drink and bathe in the hot afternoons. Watch out for elephant herds, buffalos in the hundreds, crocodiles, hippos, beautiful birds and sometimes lions and leopards can be sighted.

Optional Activity

For those who love a bit of adventure a trip to the magnificent Kyambura gorge is an alternative to the boat safari.

Kyambura Gorge Nature walk

The spectacular Kyambura Gorge, also called the “Valley of Apes”, is located in the eastern corner of Queen Elizabeth. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda. Enter the Gorge and you will be marveled by the verdant, rich Tropical Rainforest right close to the Equator crossing. You can make a wonderful hike here looking for chimpanzees. Chances of seeing chimps are 50% and that is why we rather call it a nature walk. Don’t miss it; the gorge is simply amazing!

Cost: U.S. $50 Per Person

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Elephant Plains Lodge

Day 4Visit The Tree Climbing Lions in Ishahsa

Today after breakfast you will set out to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park along the banks of River Ntungwe.

The landscape in this section of the magnificent park is considerably different from that found in other parts of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Ishasha Sector within QENP is habitat to the internationally renowned tree-climbing lions which are unique to this very place. The males of these exceptional lions have black manes.

The sector also home to plenty of other wildlife such as the Uganda Kob and other antelopes, herds of elephants and buffaloes, hippos, baboons, leopards and many more.

You will search for Tree Climbing Lions sitting lazily in the branches of the fig trees as they carefully watch the jungle from an elevated view.

After the search you will head to Ishasha Jungle Lodge right on the banks of Ntungwe River for lunch and a relaxing evening.
