There will be an important group meeting at 6pm at your accommodation. Please endeavor to attend the meeting.

If you arrive with time to spare, spend some time visiting and getting to know the local town. You can visit town’s old colonial gardens or visit a nearby beach.

Meal Plan: Dinner will be a private arrangement

Accommodation: The Boma

Day 2Travel to Kisoro

Shortly after your breakfast, you will travel to the southern sector of the Bwindi Impenatrable forest in Kisoro District.

This 8hr + 1hr for Lunch journey is a truly incredible journey as you will travel through the rolling hills with vast wetlands of central Uganda to incredibly steep hills in South West Uganda in Kabale and Kisoro

There are not many places in the world where you can experience such untouched beauty natural beauty. The Bwindi forest is home Uganda’s gentle giants.

Today you will sleep in one of the 10 Luxury Mountain and Lake View chalets at the colorful and beautiful luxurious Chameleon Hill Lodge near the Lake Mutanda over-looking the Virunga Mountains in the Congo.

A variety of activities are available for you to experience such as massage, boat drives, mountain biking, culture, Batwa trail etc.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Accommodation: Chameleon Hill Lodge / Mutanda Lake Resort

Day 3Gorilla Trekking

After your early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the Bwindi Impenatrable Forest National Park gate (Rushaga, Nkuringo or Mgahinga) where you’ll be briefed on the Gorilla trek by the Uganda Wildlife Authorities. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was declared a World Heritage site in 1994 because of its incredible biodiversity. This forest protects about half of the remaining 1050 Mountain Gorillas.

Once a trekking group encounters one of the gorilla families, only one hour is granted in the presence of the great apes before trekkers must leave, however reluctantly.

Be aware that the trek can be strenuous and may reach altitudes of almost 2,000 metres above sea level. Depending on weather conditions, some of the paths can be slippery and these paths themselves can change depending on the location of the gorillas. Therefore, it is extremely hard to predict how long you will need to walk for, but a particularly good level of fitness is recommended for this trek. You can usually get remarkably close to the mountain gorillas, and seeing their movements is like seeing a mirror image of yourself.

From a safe distance, watch them eat, sleep, groom, and play – the giant silverback surveying and guarding the scene. Enjoy a packed lunch in the wilderness.

Depending on the time you finish tracking the Gorillas, you can enjoy other short Optional Activities as listed above.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Packed Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Chameleon Hill Lodge / Mutanda Lake Resort

Day 4Travel to Lake Bunyonyi

Soon after breakfast you will set out to Lake Bunyonyi between Kabale and Kisoro Districts. Lake Bunyonyi (‘place of many little birds’) is undoubtedly the loveliest lake in Uganda. Its contorted shore encircles 29 islands, surrounded by steep terraced hillsides reminiscent of parts of Nepal. A magical place, especially with a morning mist rising off the placid waters, it has supplanted the Ssese Islands as the place for travellers to chill out on their way through Uganda and has a selection of gorgeously remote and bucolic places to stay on distant islands, where you’ve only the birds for company. Best of all – unlike many lakes in East Africa – Bunyoni is bilharzia, croc, and hippo free, and so its crystal-clear waters are all yours to swim in. Bliss. The beautiful lake also formed park of scenes of “Wakanda” in the Academy award winner movie Black Panther starred by the Late Chadwick Boseman Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o among others.

The afternoon is all yours to explore the lake.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Bird Nest Lodge

Optional Activities:

Boat and canoes trips to the islands, mountain biking, swimming, nature walks, cultural experiences among others, visit to punishment island

Day 5Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early this morning after breakfast, we shall head north to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Soon, on arrival, we shall have lunch, and, in the afternoon, we shall have a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel home to the largest concentration of Hippos in the world. The shores are lined with different bird species. Watch out for large herds of elephants and buffalos as they dip into the channel to cool off from the intense heat in the savanna.

After the boat cruise we shall have and evening game drive as we head back to Simba Safari Camp tucked away in the African bush for that magical unforgettable experience.

You will sleep to the roars of lions in the Savanah. This is truly Africa!!

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Kasenyi Safari Camp / Elephant Plains Lodge

Day 6Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kyambura Gorge

After breakfast we shall have game drives in the in the Kasenyi Plains Watch out for the popular lionesses Bridget and Lena with their 4 boys roaming the savannah. The park was recently designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity by UNESCO. Later in the afternoon you can opt to adventure into the magnificent Kyambura Gorge.

Optional Experience

Kyambura Gorge Nature walk/Chimpanzee tracking

The spectacular Kyambura Gorge, also called the “Valley of Apes”, is located in the eastern corner of Queen Elizabeth. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda. Enter the Gorge and you will be marveled by the verdant, rich Tropical Rainforest right close to the Equator crossing. You can make a wonderful hike here looking for chimpanzees. Chances of seeing chimps are 50% and that is why we rather call it a nature walk. Don’t miss it; the gorge is simply amazing!

Costing: U.S. $50 Per Person

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Kasenyi Safari Camp / Elephant Plains Lodge

Day 7Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

Shortly after you breakfast you will set off for a journey to Lake Mburo National Park. The journey is about 5hrs.

This is Uganda’s smallest national park but with an abundance of Zebras, Uganda Kobs, Waterbuck, Elands, and many other species of antelopes. The park also has a lake which is also teeming with hippos and crocodiles in the small lake.

Recently in 2015 Uganda Wildlife Authority introduced 15 giraffes from Murchison Falls National Park which are now up to 25 members.

Your accommodation tonight is Mihingo Lodge situated on a beautiful lodge with very private rooms and a swimming pool over-looking a water hole where several animals report to quench their thirst. The lodge was built on an elevated rock and offers great picturesque views of the park.

Optional Experiences

Horse Ride Safari

Horse safaris are an awesome way to see the wildlife around Mihingo Lodge. Without the noise of an engine, you can hear so much more, and you really feel part of nature.

Watching animals from a horse is so peaceful and a totally different experience from being on a game drive; zebras come towards you to check out the strange relative without stripes. Even the elands that are usually very shy, look curiously at the horses without running away, but keep their distance.

Costing:

Night Game Drive

A night game drive in Lake Mburo national park is absolutely great! You have chances of seeing Hyena, different nocturnal animals, and it’s probably your best chance to spot a leopard. Your night safari is either just before dinner or just after dinner and takes about 2 hours.

Costing: U.S. $40 per person

Mountain Bike Safari

If you’re adventurous and like to keep fit, grab a bike and explore the sandy tracks outside the Park. You can hire one of our Mihingo guides to join you on your ride and make sure you don’t get lost! Tracks are suitable for a gentle family ride out taking in the wildlife all around but there is plenty for the more extreme riders to explore. Dive off the larger roads on to narrow animal paths and clamber over termite mounds while you put our bikes through their paces!

Costing: U.S. $25 per person

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Mihingo Lodge

Day 8End of Safari

You will have early morning breakfast after which you will head for a bush walk.

Lake Mburo N.P. is one of two parks in Uganda where bush walks with an experienced ranger are permitted. This opportunity should not be missed. From footprints and animal droppings the ranger will be able to tell you which animal has left it and how long ago. It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range

After your bush walk in the savannah early morning you will head to your lodge and have lunch after which you will depart for Entebbe International Airport.

Please make sure your flight is after 8pm

Meal Plan: Breakfast

If you choose to stay longer, accommodation will be a private arrangement.
